Another message from the secretary of the MFA, D’arcy Robinson:

The MFA is soliciting nominations for student scholarship awards. There will be a scholarship in each of the three divisions: Speech, Debate, and Congressional Debate. We hope to announce the winners at the State Tournament.

Coaches can nominate any worthy student. Write a short explanation as to why this student should get the scholarship. This is not a need-based award, but rather an award that acknowledges the student’s contribution to the activity.

• Criteria to consider
• Graduating this year
• Connection to the code of ethics
• Student accomplishments
• Contributions to the activity
• Length of time in the activity

Please submit nominations by Tuesday, Jan. 20 to the secretary, D’Arcy Robinson ([email protected]). A ballot will be available at the state tournament. Each school gets one vote. Should a school not be able to make the tournament, an absentee ballot will be made available.

The scholarship amount is $250.00.
